Schön, dass du hier bist! Wir, Emely und Tjark, haben uns den Traum vom eigenen Segelboot erfüllt, eine Maxi84, relativ spontan und ohne das ganz große Geld. Das Boot müssen wir noch umtaufen auf den Namen Meera. Wir nehmen dich mit auf unsere Reise von blutigen Anfängern zu hoffentlich passablen Seglern. Bevor wir uns in die Wellen stürzen können, liegt noch ein Berg an Arbeit vor uns. Umbauten, Änderungen und vor allem der Sportbootführerschein müssen erledigt werden. 🪂 Pourquoi le skysurf a disparu des compétitions ? Ce short montre un saut d’entraînement avec Jeff (mon vidéoman) quand nous etions jeunes 😜 Le skysurf, mélange de surf et de chute libre, était une discipline spectaculaire… mais trop peu pratiquée. Vers 2007, la discipline a été retirée des compétitions officielles. Manque de participants, risques physiques élevés, désintérêt des sponsors, et difficultés à juger équitablement les vidéos ont eu raison de ce sport hors norme. We want to share our GTFO plan of retiring early to explore the world on a Balance 482 catamaran. We plan to retire June 1, 2023, Dennis’s mandatory retirement date when he will have served 30 years in the Army. We currently own a 1984 Catalina 30’ monohull sailboat on the Chesapeake Bay. This is our practice boat and is not designed for the open ocean and too small for full-time, liveaboard life. We put non-refundable money to reserve our Balance 482 catamaran.
