Nosso querido Lumar tem as velas feitas por Nelson Piccolo. Nelson Piccolo era um velejador e um verdadeiro ícone no mundo da vela no Rio Grande do Sul. Nascido e criado em Porto Alegre, desde cedo ele desenvolveu um amor profundo pelo mar e pela navegação. Desde a infância, Nelson passava a maior parte do seu tempo livre próximo à água, observando os barcos navegando e sonhando em um dia poder fazer o mesmo. Com determinação e paixão, ele começou a velejar aos 10 anos de idade, aprendendo as técnicas básicas em um pequeno barco que seu pai havia construído. À medida que crescia, Nelson se destacava cada vez mais nas competições locais de vela. Sua habilidade natural e dedicação incansável o levaram a conquistar vitórias consecutivas em regatas estaduais e nacionais. Ele logo se tornou um nome conhecido na comunidade de velejadores do Rio Grande do Sul. Nelson também era conhecido por seu espírito aventureiro. Ele buscava constantemente novos desafios e decidiu participar de competições internacionais. Em sua primeira participação na famosa regata de volta ao mundo, a Volvo Ocean Race, Nelson enfrentou condições extremas e desafiadoras. No entanto, sua perseverança e habilidades excepcionais de navegação o ajudaram a levar sua equipe à vitória, conquistando o respeito e a admiração de todos os envolvidos. Além de suas conquistas nas regatas, Nelson também se destacava por seu trabalho incansável em prol da vela. Ele fundou uma escola de vela em Porto Alegre, onde ensinava jovens e adultos a arte da navegação. Seu objetivo era compartilhar seu amor pelo mar e inspirar uma nova geração de velejadores talentosos. Ao longo de sua carreira, Nelson Piccolo inspirou inúmeras pessoas com sua paixão, coragem e determinação. Ele se tornou uma figura icônica no mundo da vela do Rio Grande do Sul, um exemplo de como a dedicação e o amor pelo que se faz podem levar a grandes conquistas. Infelizmente, Nelson faleceu prematuramente em um acidente durante uma regata no exterior, deixando um legado duradouro e uma lacuna no mundo da vela.
