Homebuilt Schionning Arrow 1280-S by @dualitysailing (IG) ▫️ The Arrow 1280-S is a low cost concept, focused on performance with narrower hulls, shallower draft and a practical interior layout. With a 100% flat panel construction that has made the Arrow Series such a popular design. ▫️ The Arrow 1280-S evolved from the Arrow 1200: a stretched version with a large cockpit with the door set to port, allowing a big table and plenty of seating for entertaining guests. Dual helms are standard and set on the outer hull edge giving good visibility of the sails. ▫️ The saloon has a U-shaped galley and saloon with the nav station amidships to port, with the single head and shower located aft. Dual double berths are located on the bridgedeck forward, with access from each hull. ▫️ A single berth in the starboard bow and additional double berth aft give the 1280-S plenty of living space. ▫️ LOA- 12.80 metres BOA- 6.80 metres DRAFT- 0.400 metres SAIL AREA (Main) - 67 sq metres SAIL AREA (Jib) - 31 sq metres PAYLOAD 1500 kg DISPLACEMENT 4500 kg BRIDGEDECK CLEARANCE 0.750 metres BEAM TO LENGTH RATIO 15.2:1 ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ #selfbuild #catamaran #multihulls #catamarans #sailing #schionning #speedmachine #arrow1280 #yachts #schionningarrow #performancecatamarans #katamarans #yachtdesign

WIND? Singlehanded Docking Stern To with Lazy Lines Nick in this video shares valuable insight on handling winds while performing a stern-to docking manoeuvre with lazy lines. =========================== Transcript Now if it was a really windy day or if I was getting blown away right now I would drive boat against that stern line or control line so that I had control and was not drifting closer to the dock especially if I had a wind on the nose. So we just keep pulling this out and I keep watching the stern of my boat. Now that I'm pulling the boat forward I don't have to worry about the boat heading backwards there and I've got that control line on so I can't go too far. So I'm not going to worry about trying to pull this really hard right now I'm going to get it firm. Get it on. And then go down and deal with my other stern line and the other bow line. =========================== Filmed and Edited by Mahina Hathaway and Nick Hathaway, 45 Degrees Sailing Looking to sail in Croatia? We're Nick and Terysa and we’ve become completely obsessed with the idea of sailing around the world and sharing our experiences and information through our sailing lifestyle videos with others. We met travelling around India, and quickly agreed that rather than “settling down” and doing what most normal people do, we wanted to travel and have adventures! We moved onto our 38 foot monohull in 2014, sailed across the Atlantic twice, cruised the Caribbean, Bahamas and Europe, before buying a brand new 45 ft catamaran! We hope you enjoy what we do.
