The test consists of lancing handmade wooden javelins from a predetermined line at a coconut situated between 7 & 9.5m above ground level atop a pole. The coconut is divided into 5 horizontal zones, with points on a scale of 2 to 10 being allocated in an ascending amount as one’s javelin strikes & holds higher up the coconut. Normally each competitor throws 8 javelins on 5 to 7 separate occasions. The pole is lowered after each round, and the coconut is removed and taken to the judges for verification of the points gained. Fresh coconut is then hoisted. The winner is the person or team which totals the greatest number of points:

This is our road trip to Deans Blue Hole. We spent about 4 nights down in Long Island at Thompson Bay before we had to return to George Town in anticipation of a weather event coming with west winds. Suggested by another fellow cruiser while at Tiny's Bar and Grill, we rented a car from Seaside Car Rental. It was $75 for the day. Well worth the money, we had a blast. This is the first of several stops we made. It took about 45 minutes, perhaps a bit more, to get to Deans Blue Hole. At 663 feet deep, you can't really see much down below 20 feet or so. Further, the water seemed to be a little stirred up today from the waves of the Atlantic. That said, it was very cool to see. I can't imagine freediving something like that! #sailingcatamaran #boatlife #catamaran #travelvlog #digitalnomad #lifestyle #sailboats #sailing #cruising #offgrid #nomad #sail #boat #multihull #whileone #sailingwhileone #bigseas #lifeafter50 #sailinglife

The Corby 30Custom - Raptor - IRL 811 beating to windward on the way to the first mark of the Harbour Race of Volvo Cork Week 2024. The Team on J109 Going to Red were in a tight battle with the coastal race IRC entry after a poor start. A few close tacks up the right hand shore allowed GTR to pull away from the smaller yacht with a similar rating. The team at Bottom Up Boats hope you like this short clip from our week of racing at Volvo Cork Week 2024

Sharing my love for sailing and the beautiful sound of fast sailing. For a cruising yacht this is fast! Still super comfortable and peaceful. Almost like sharing ASMR video for ocean and sailing lovers. Hope you enjoy this clip from the South Pacific Ocean ⛵️
