Toni and I will be at the 2025 Annapolis Fall Sailboat Show on Thursday and Friday, October 9-10. If you see us, say Hi. 2025 has been a year of change for our Seawind 1260, “Moments in Time”. After sailing her as delivered for a season, we had a list of improvements that we wanted to get check off the list. This is one of the last ones. We originally swore we would never close in the cockpit as that was one of our favorite features. We spend more time relaxing in the cockpit than our saloon. But certain beautiful anchorages along Chesapeake’s eastern shore are forbidden certain times of the year due to vicious swarms of bugs. Screening in the cockpit now opens these anchorages back up. The visibility looking out from the cockpit is excellent so we can still enjoy our views but the visibility from the outside looking in is muted, providing some privacy. We can the screens up while sailing, or remove them for storage. We also had blackouts made for the saloon windows in the same pattern as the “Screens Saloon Shade Clip On” 1260 option which only blocked 40 percent of the sunshine. 40 percent is not enough when at a marina or trying to run the air conditioner on hot sunny days. The saloon glass can get so hot you can barely touch it and would radiate the heat. These new shades block 95 percent of the heat, allows light in, provides privacy, and the beige color really knocks down the inside temperatures. Downside is that they must be removed while underway. And since they had the sewing machine and material out, we had some winch covers made as well. Another checkmark closer to releasing the lines. Subscribe and share in the adventure! ► The new Cervetti 44S had been announced for 2023, but ultimately, it was this year that we got to discover it. This catamaran optimized for charter features the inverted bows of its big sistership, the 48, with a greater angle and, above all, more width. The composite bowsprit is also retained. The nacelle, on the other hand, is proportionally larger. Inverted glazing should prove highly effective in keeping the interior cool. The flybridge design features an XXL sunbathing area and a central helm station, though there looks to be little in the way of protection up there. Advantages: the silhouette is more elegant and windage higher up is slightly reduced. In terms of performance, the upwind sail area/displacement ratio is 8.48 m²/t, which, in theory, suggests a placid temperament. But the powerful 1,075-square foot (100 m²) gennaker will certainly add some welcome horsepower! Note that a power version is also available – the Cervetti 44P. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Builder: JJL Catamarans Architect: Skyron Length: 44’ (13.42 m) Beam: 23’11” (7.3 m) Draft: 4’3” (1.3 m) Displacement: 36,375 lbs (16.5 t) Mainsail: 840 sq ft (78 m²) Jib: 430 sq ft (40 m²) Gennaker: 1,075 sq ft (100 m²) Engine: 2 x 60 HP Volvo Fuel: 235 US gal (900 l) Water: 235 US gal (900 l) Cabins: 3 or 4 Berths: 6 or 8 ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! No Luxury tax. This Carver 38 Super Sport is really well equipped for extended cruising. The AB dinghy package has a 20 hp four stroke kicker is on an electric Sea Wise davit system. The bow thruster makes maneuvering a breeze. The bridge enclosure has all new windows and a glass front window with a wiper. The Raymarine GPS , Radar is fairly new, there is even heat up on the bridgedeck and lots of seating. Crossing the Gulf? No problem there is an auto pilot for easy efficient plotting. The cockpit is large and the deck walkaround is wide with great hand holds. Lots of storage in the cockpit also. The Salon is luxurious and well appointed, with a raised dinette, deck level galley, large flexsteel settee. The master stateroom has hanging closets and a queen island berth. The head has a vacuflush and walkin shower. There is a second stateroom. Other features include: Central heating, reverse air heat, flatscreen TV, cockpit brow hardtop, Fusion sound sysytem, Magnum charger, wired for Scotty downriggers, 8 KW diesel Koehler Genset in a sound shield, live bait tank, snap in carpets. The Volvo D6-310 turbo diesel motors have 1050 hours.
