Sailboat Upgrade: Replacing Reef Lines in Boom. As new sailors, we are finishing off some sailboat upgrades and maintenance, to get ready for the waters of the San Juan Islands at the first of June. We have just replaced the Reefing Lines in our Boom. We have only two reefing points: A normal first Reef and a Deep Second Reef. We decided it was a simpler solution for us---versus adding another line. If you dig our journey as a new sailing couple, learning to sail, buying a Sceptre 41, getting ready to sail and launching, we would love you to follow along: Join us on our website at: https://gypseaexplorer.com/ Or on our Instagram Channel: https://www.instagram.com/writerjacks/

The Melges 20 fleet boasts incredible, highly organized racing around the globe; 2019 is no exception. The Melges World League’s North American Division has welcomed new owners to the class this year and is fully energized for the upcoming 2019-2020 Miami Winter Series. Melges 20 Worlds will be in North America again in 2021. Before next year’s winter series kicks off, sailors will head to Europe for a summer circuit of great Melges World League racing across six events organized by Melges Europe. Day 5 of our Christmas calendar takes us to the aft head—our little onboard bathroom that does it all! 🎄 Here’s how it works: 💧 Running water thanks to our water pump, so you can brush your teeth or take a shower just like at home. 🪥🚿 ⛵ Sit-down shower: A handy feature when the boat is moving, making it much easier (and safer) to shower under way. The biggest difference? The toilet! We use a manual pump toilet, which requires a bit of technique (and sometimes a quick tutorial for guests). 😊 Some boats have electric toilets, but we like the simplicity and reliability of our manual setup. It may be compact, but this space is fully equipped for life onboard! What’s your biggest question about boat bathrooms? Let us know in the comments! 💬 🎥 See you tomorrow as we continue our boat tour! 🎵 Music by Sergio Prosvirini from Pixabay #YouTubeShorts #Explore #TravelVlog #Vloggers #DailyLife #ChristmasCalendar #Vlogmas #ChristmasOnBoard #Beneteau44cc #Sailing #Liveaboard #LifeAtSea
