A strong start today for the 49er teams at the Olympic qualifier in Lanzarote. Robert Dickson and Sean Waddilove Team Dickson Waddilove 49er Ireland topped the Day 1 leader-board with Ryan Seaton and SĆ©afra Guilfoyle Out2Win Ryan & SĆ©afra placing an 11-8-8 for the day. Conditions off Playa Blanca in the straits between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura were very unpredictable in the fresh trade-wind conditions with added ocean swell. āIt was very tricky with the wind coming off the mountains so a āhead out of the boatā day but all-in-all, a great start to the regatta,ā commented James OāCallaghan, Irish Sailingās Performance Director. āThereās a long way to go in this regatta but we couldnāt have asked for a better start.ā We'll be posting updates here daily.
