Seacocks are bronze valves in a boat and are used as a safety measure for closing off holes below the water line and keeping water out of the boat for either maintenance or emergencies. We have 4 total on Seawind, and one of them has been giving us trouble for the past couple of years. I cleaned and greased this particular seacock, and ever since, it’s seeped a bit of water into the boat. The only way I could stop the leak was to tighten the valve so much that I couldn’t turn the handle! Live right now for our patrons AD FREE is EP. 55 of Sailing Seawind! We take you through the process of lapping a seacock, Katy tackles some projects of her own, and so much more! This early live viewing each week can be available to you over on our Patreon! A boat listing with no real photos is never a good sign. This 1971 Little Harbor looks more like a project someone gave up on than a vessel ready to sail. Pretty drawings don’t matter if the reality is a “basket case.” 📗 Get My Book: https://bethecaptain.com
