We just crossed the Panama Canal on Zambezi, and let’s just say… it’s not a lazy Sunday sail. Here’s what caught us off guard: ⛵️ Your boat is not important. You’re just a tiny dot next to the big container ships. Be prepared to get moved around to fit the schedule. 💪 Your line handlers need muscles. The chambers fill fast, the current pulls hard, and keeping the lines tight is real work. Don’t skip arm day 😉 🧑‍✈️ You need to know how to steer in currents. Between the water rushing in and the 300-meter cargo ship powering up in front of you, your rudder needs a steady hand. Now that we’re through the Canal, we have “only” 2,800nm left to sail to our final destination in Canada. Should be doable by September, right? Stay Salty! But that spark is what keeps us pushing through and this Wednesday, the Monaco Yacht Show will shine once again. Can you feel it? What's the highlight of MYS that leaves you spellbound every year? @yachtieworld

The sheepshank knot is used to take up slack on a line. Here, Capt. Jerry Smith of TowBoatUS Charlotte Harbor demonstrate how to tie one at this year's towing convention. http://www.boatus.com
