The cracked part I pointed out is BMW part number 51221817032, "Circlip", on parts diagram page: bodywork - trunk lid - trunk lid/closing system. If you can't get in through your back seats at all, apparently dealers drill a hole under the license plate to reattach the mechanism, which I think this video should be a useful reference for.
