Our Boat Restoration Experience Days are back!🛠️ Our last Boat Restoration Experience Day was such a success that we’ve decided to add not one, not two, but THREE more dates! 🎉 Come along to Pioneer Sailing Trust and spend a hands-on day learning from our highly experienced boat restorers. You’ll get the chance to try traditional boatbuilding and restoration skills, discover the techniques that help keep our historic boats sailing, and make a few things of your own to take home. 🔨 What will you try? • Steam bending oak • Roving • Dovetail joints • Caulking • Knots You’ll also make your own wooden phone holder and rope keyring to take home with you! 🎁 🍽️ A fish & chip lunch is included! 📅 Upcoming dates: • 17th October 2026 • 14th November 2026 • 13th February 2027 💷 £119 per person Participants must be 14 or over. We've been working closely with Quantum Sails http://quantumsails.com/svdelos to really hone in on our needs and preferences to come up with something that will give us performance, versatility, and durability to tackle all the conditions we plan to sail in. All the projects on the boat are full of their own unique set of challenges and rewards, but I have to say this has been one of my favorite big undertakings so far in the build! But we start welding things in place and you can reallllly see how the lines look with everything in place and it's so freaking cool!
