The Causeway bridge connects the Dutch side of St. Maarten, to the French side of St. Martin. The bridge was officially opened in 2008 and spans a length of approximately 3.5 km. The bridge is frequently used by tourists and locals as a scenic drive as it offers stunning views of the Lagoon and surrounding areas. Monaco dahling? I’d rather be sailing! In our latest episode, having sailed further east from Antibes, we waited for a weather window to cross back to Corsica and found ourselves in Monaco - known the world over as the playground of the rich and famous. We dipped our toes into this tiny but exclusive and expensive country and watched the weather. Instead of the hoped for northerlies to blow us across to Corsica, the forecast grew into a far reaching mistral and the marina had no space for us to stay! After finding what we hoped would be a protected anchorage we crossed our fingers….
