Alexander Marine as exclusive importers of Galeon Yachts are pleased to present the all-new Galeon 480 FLY model to the Australian and New Zealand market. Galeon Yachts, synonymous with precise craftsmanship and uncompromisable success in yacht manufacturing, proudly presented the debut of its latest marvel, the 480 FLY, at the prestigious 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival. The 480 FLY combines cutting-edge design with luxurious details, offering the perfect vessel for memorable on-water experiences. Starting at the transom, the yacht features a hydraulic swim platform, making water access a breeze whether you're diving in or launching your tender. The platform is equipped with an integrated swim ladder on the starboard side making it easily accessible for all ages, and for those who love to cook while enjoying the sea breeze, an optional grill is integrated into the transom. Stepping up into the spacious cockpit via either port or starboard stairways, you'll find one of two versatile seating arrangements. Choose between a fixed U-shaped aft bench seat for comfortable lounging, or the exciting swiveling U-shaped aft bench seat that rotates 180 degrees to face completely aft - this option includes a tender garage adding convenience to your aquatic adventures. Galeon Yachts are renowned for their innovative Beach Mode, which features a deployable balcony to port that extends the cockpit. The fold-out balconies features glazing so guests can see the water below their feet and railings for added safety. The sliding doors to port and starboard allow for a pop-up extended galley counter with bar stools and an extended saloon settee creating additional dinettes. Stepping inside, the expansive door opens the entire width, blurring the line between inside and out. The layout includes a practical aft galley to port with an L-shaped design, featuring an under-bench refrigeration, a two-element induction cooktop, a combination microwave oven, and ample storage, making meal prep a breeze. Forward of the galley, the U-shaped dining settee to port provides plenty of seating around a height-adjustable table, which can convert into an additional berth if needed. For entertainment, a Hi/Lo TV discreetly tucks away when not in use, keeping the space open and uncluttered. At the helm to starboard, you'll find a bench seat that can fold up, giving you the flexibility to stand while navigating. Equipped with Raymarine electronics, the helm is designed for both style and function, ensuring that every journey is smooth and enjoyable. Below deck, the yacht features a three-cabin layout, offering comfortable accommodations for up to six guests. The midship master cabin boasts an island queen bed, a private ensuite, and ample storage, including a large hanging wardrobe. A sofa to port adds to the luxurious feel, and an optional TV ensures you can relax in style. The forward VIP cabin features a centreline queen bed and shares access to a bathroom that doubles as a day head. Complete with two hanging wardrobes and a vanity, this cabin exudes sophistication. The starboard guest cabin is designed with single over-and-under berths, perfect for additional guests or family members. Moving up to the flybridge, a set of stairs leads from the cockpit to this elevated social space. An aft L-shaped settee surrounds a fold-out table, perfect for alfresco dining or enjoying drinks with friends. Forward, another U-shaped settee provides additional seating near the upper helm, which reflects the same lower helm Raymarine electronics. A well-appointed wet bar to starboard includes a sink, fridge, ice maker, and optional grill, ensuring that refreshments are always close at hand. A bimini provides shade, ensuring the flybridge remains a comfortable retreat even in the midday sun. At the bow, U-shaped sun loungers with adjustable backrests offer the perfect spot for relaxation with the option to have a shade bimini for our warm climate. A hatch provides direct access to the VIP cabin below. With its perfect blend of innovation, luxury, and functionality, the Galeon 480 FLY offers an unparalleled on-water experience, making it the ideal yacht for those seeking adventure and elegance in equal measure. ► Full test in Multihulls World N°191: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/motor/prestige-m8-powercat-or-yacht-why-both-captain ► This new model announced at Boot Düsseldorf confirms the ambitions of Prestige Yachts regarding the M-Line range they inaugurated in 2022 with the M48. A catamaran configuration is indeed where the manufacturer placing their bets! The M8 should have been called the M58, but Prestige's management preferred to emphasize the “monohull equivalent comfort”, in the same way that Fountaine Pajot did with their MY range. The M8 intends to offer features comparable to those of an 80-foot monohull yacht. Looking at the very first 3D views and the specifications presented, this will indeed be the case: the total living space extends over 2,900 square feet (270 m²), including 540 sq ft (50 m²) for the flybridge, 510 sq ft (47.5 m²) for the nacelle, 345 sq ft (32 m²) for the aft cockpit, and 320 sq ft (30 m²) for the forward owner's cabin, which occupies all the available width... A great deal of effort has also gone into the design, the materials used, and the quality of finish, such as the access to the flybridge from inside, surrounded by glass to avoid breaking the view, the bar between the two aft openings and the hydraulic platform that can be used as a terrace at the same level as the cockpit. While the M8 isn’t a semi-custom powercat, various options, such as having the galley down, will allow this new model to be personalized. The shipyard is also taking a step towards respecting the environment with a Silent Yacht option: a lithium battery bank combined with solar panels will allow the crew to spend the night aboard without having to resort to running the generator. The M8's low fuel consumption is also worthy of note (at least at slow speeds) as the twin 600 HP Volvo D8s require only 5¼ US gallons (20 liters) per hour at 8 knots. Like the M48, the maximum speed remains modest, at 20 knots. On the other hand, the range this catamaran offers, while comfortable, won’t allow you to envisage too much in the way of ocean passage-making. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Prestige Yachts Length overall: 67’11” (20.7 m) Hull length: 60’ (18.3 m) Beam: 28’10” (8.8 m) Drivetrain: 2 x 600 HP Fuel: 978 US gal (3,700 l) Water: 211 US gal (800 l) Maximum speed: 20 knots Range at 10 knots: 850 miles ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests!
