It was a light and frustrating day for many in the Olympic sailing competition, but not for the London 2012 gold and silver medallists in the Men's Windsurfer, with the Dutch and the British wrapping up Rio 2016 gold and silver before the Medal Race on Sunday. Meanwhile it was the start of competition for the Men's and Women's Skiff fleets, with an expected leader in the 49er Men, but a surprise leader in the 49erFX Women. A quick trip post storm to Greenport NY from Clinton to Townsend Marina in Aeris my 1971 27ft C&C sailboat. I normally am singlehanded sailing so I can’t get too much audio as I am on the tiller. It was a great sail over and I hit over 9 knots SOG on the way. The day finally came! After so many false starts, marina delays and rollercoaster emotions, she is finally where she belongs: in the water!! This time-lapse video shows us getting her secured in the travel lift slings, and following her out of the cradle and over the launch area… kept reminding myself to breathe!
