We sail over calm seas to anchor at the town of Raha, Sulawesi in search of ancient caves. Here, hidden amongst the rain forest in the limestone hills of Muna Island, Liangkabori Caves hold a remarkable secret — vivid rock art created three and half to four thousand years ago. Scrambling through narrow into chambers deep underground, we discover ancient paintings, etched and painted in red ochre, depict human figures, animals, and mysterious geometric shapes. As archaeologists continue to study the site, the art reveals a deep cultural connection between past and present, with local traditions still echoing the symbols and stories found on the cave walls. For ocean travellers like us, Indonesia is certainly a nation of wonders.
Superyacht Sarissa collected major awards at the recent Boat International Design & Innovation Awards 2024. The superyacht, designed by Malcolm Mckeon Yacht Design, was honored with five awards in total, including the Eco Award and Innovation of the Year. The performance cruising superyacht won the judges over, who were impressed by her clean design and sleek exterior. Sarissa, whose name means long, sharp spear in Greek, is 59.7m and was built by Royal Huisman. The yacht is packed with innovation throughout. Above the deck, Sarissa is equipped with #North3Di sails, a Southern Spars rig, and Future Fibres AeroSix rigging. She is the first superyacht to select Aerosix and is the largest yacht sailing with this new rigging technology. Fun fact - Sarissa's in-boom furling North 3Di mainsail is the largest flat-top mainsail in the world. #superyachtdesign #sailinginnovation #superyacht #northsails #royalhuisman #malcolmmckeon #sailing

Of course, it offers all the Bali features - solid foredeck, interior completely free of bulkheads, tilt-and-turn door and huge 220 V refrigerators and a forward door as a bonus. The manufacturer offers five versions of layout. There is of course the attractive 3-cabin version with a huge owner's hull including separate toilet, interior companionway, but also direct access to the starboard transom; and 4 and 5-cabin versions. But where the 4.8 scores highest is by offering for the first time on a multihull under 50 feet… 6 double cabins and 6 private bathrooms. ► Technical Specifications: Builder: Bali Catamarans Length: 46’10” (14.28 m) Beam: 25’10” (7.88 m) Draft: 4’6” (1.36m) Light displacement: 32,630 lbs (14.8 t) Mainsail: 925 sq ft (86 m²) Self-tacking solent: 505 sq ft (47m²) Diesel: 264 US gal (1,000 l) Water: 295 US gal (1,120 l) Engines: 2 X 45/80 HP ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests!
