The first orca (nicknamed Moby Doll) ever to be caught alive was captured off East Point on Saturna Island. East Point is one of the view places in the world where you can get close to orcas from the land. The resident whales swim past twice a day East Point is only a couple of minutes walk from our summer house on Saturna island, so we see them frequently

Riding out the waves on anchor with damaged rudder/steering

Only a few miles from the marina we saw this storm approaching. Nothing you can do but let it pass. We furled in the genoa and just motored until it passed. We didn't get any video of the actual storm by a friend that was racing at the time had cameras rolling. So you can see what we went through. No waves to speak of so I just turned my back to it and waited it out.
