One of the few ways to earn money for school and dedication in these areas is to pan for gold. On any one day, there is always at least one member from each family in the jungle searching for that precious mineral. Sometimes they pan with a shovel and metal dish and sometimes they swim using goggles. Depending on the current food situation, it is also common to trade gold directly for commodities such as rice and sugar that can't be grown naturally in these areas. To actually get footage and go down and just physically be there was pretty amazing I'm really glad that we did We ended up finding some good reefs in the area and ended up shooting a few fish for dinner
