Accettare un lavoro anche se ci ruba molto tempo, acquistare una casa anche se lontana dai nostri cari. Imparare ad accogliere un lato imperfetto del nostro partner. Ognuno di questi esempi ha delle motivazioni molto forti, che giustificano appunto il compromesso. Con noi la vita si comporta nello stesso modo, cosi ci ritroviamo a fare accordi con ogni aspetto della nostra vita. Ogni giorno telefono alla mia famiglia per partecipare da lontano alle loro vite.
