The Figure-8 Stopper Knot is commonly used on sailing boats to prevent lines from running out of blocks or clutches. Strong, reliable, and easy to untie. ⛵⚓ Learn how to tie the Figure-8 Stopper Knot, an essential knot in sailing. It creates a secure stopper at the end of a line and is preferred over an overhand knot for its strength and easy release. ⚓⛵ Simple, strong, and reliable. #figure8knot #stopperknot #sailingknots #sailing #seamanship #boating

Toni and I had the opportunity to check out the first Seawind 1370 in the United States. We did not think twice and headed up to Sail Away Catamarans to enjoy a demonstration sail on Damsel Fly. The 1370 is only 4 feet longer than the 1260, but it is a very different boat. There were things we liked and things we did not, so like every other boat known to mankind, it comes down to compromises. Like all Seawinds, she sailed very nicely in the low winds.
Goodbye, Wahine… for now. I’m heading to mainland Japan for a few weeks to work on the second draft of my book and continue research. Life aboard a sailboat, especially in typhoon season, means constant prep. She’s secured, bug-bombed (yuck), and floating in Buren Bay by an abandoned Pearl Farm. I paddled ashore on Mitsu’s SUP just before the fumes kicked in. Boat life teaches adaptability. Writer’s life demands solitude and space. This journey blends both. I’ll be back in a few weeks. Drafts three, four, and five await. Subscribe to follow this unusual rhythm of sea, solitude, and storytelling. And if you are a Never Too Later, check out my books and blogs at https://www.nevertoolateacademy.com/dare-to-dream #BoatLife #WritersLife #NeverTooLate
In sailing, things don’t always go to plan — sometimes even the numbers on the invoice take you by surprise. That’s not how I do things. I believe in being upfront, simple, and clear. If you sail with me, you’ll know exactly what’s included — no weird extras, no hidden fees, no “oops” at the end. Because when you're out at sea, the last thing you should be worrying about is logistics. You're here to feel free. ⚓️ Curious how we run things on board?
