Here is a local Ski Patroller, Chris Austin, reviewing his Kindred skis. He gave us some of his time during a precious day off. Alpine Resort Operations are carried out by teams of passionate people who work together in a complex system. We think that patrollers are the heart of that system. We all ski and snowboard at resorts with more peace of mind knowing there are people to help if anything goes wrong. These folks do it for the love of the sport and take time away from powder days to assist people who are lost or injured. Luckily, when Ev broke his leg a few years ago Chris was his attending patroller. So many of the decisions Chris made that day helped to reduce Evan's suffering and ensure the most positive long term outcome from a crazy injury. It's good to know that Chris' Kindred skis play a small part in facilitating the excellent work he does. Thanks Chris! We stopped on over to Long Island from George Town, Bahamas for a few days. We anchored out in Thompson Bay, near Salt Pond. There's a dinghy dock that is privately owned north of the Government Dock. We've been told that the owners are very gracious to allow cruisers to use it...and we agree. It's super nice. Just outside of the fence, there are some garbage cans for garbage. I forget about the exact name of the street, but I learned it's named after the family that owns the property nearby, Basil. Take a right on Queens Highway and the Farmer's Market is on the right. Perhaps a quarter mile down the road. We bought Long Island Salt, Long Island Pepper Salt, Hot Sauce, Fresh Dill, Fresh Basil and Zucchini Bread. We'll definitely be going back should we return to Long Island...and I expect we will. #sailingcatamaran #boatlife #catamaran #travelvlog #digitalnomad #lifestyle #sailboats #sailing #cruising #offgrid #nomad #sail #boat #multihull #whileone #sailingwhileone #bigseas #lifeafter50 #sailinglife
