► Full article in Multihulls World N°201: https://www.multihulls-world.com/articles-catamaran-trimaran/great-abaco-where-cruising-becomes-magical ► Located 180 miles east-northeast of Miami, the Abaco Islands archipelago is a string of low coral and sand islands scattered across a giant swimming pool... Here, thanks to their shoal draft, the multihull is king - which is not the case for big keelboats. In a soothing and enchanting atmosphere, you will discover traditional villages, beaches with sand as white as flour and reefs rich in marine life. From the Sunsail base in Marsh Harbour, we crisscrossed the water for you as far as Nunjack Cay in the north and Little Harbour in the south. If you don't have a launching trolley then the simplest way to get your boat up and down the beach is with an inflatable roller like this. Of course, unlike a trolley, you can take it with you, just deflate it and roll it up. Obviously you really need two or three (but I just have one - for now!). Don't get one that is too short or the boat might roll off the end of it. Of course a wide, flat bottomed boat works best. I got mine from www.sailormall.net, search for pneumatic roller, not inflatable roller! Duckworks sell them in the USA www.duckworksbbs.com/gear.htm The boat I am pulling up the beach is my Strike 15 trimaran, having just come in from a chilly February sail in Port Townsend, Wa, USA See more at my website www.sailingcatamarans.com
