“Well, a couta boat, it’s got what you call a transom. It’s square at the back, you know? And its stern is shaped like a wine glass. They call it a wine glass stern, but a double-ender is virtually the same shape on the bow as what it is at the stern. A double-ender boat is built for net fishing."
Join us as we explore some of the most iconic areas of Indonesia's Bird's Head Seascape-Cenderwasih Bay and Raja Ampat. Cenderwasih Bay is well known as one of the best spots in the world to find quite large congregations of whale sharks, not to mention beautiful reefs and lots of fish. Raja Ampat on the other hand is home to some of the world's most bio-diverse reefs which top the global "Species Count" charts for corals and marine life. This is a two-stop safari rolled into one, and as such, we've aimed at making it a "best of both worlds" safari, so we've charted an amazing luxury wooden Liveaboard built in the traditional Indonesian 'phinisi' style for the Cenderwasih portion, and will later transition to an outstanding resort built right over the water in Raja Ampat.
In this short, we’re showing off the “clipped-in shuffle” as I make my way around deck with my trusty Personal Flotation Device (PFD) and safety clips! When the seas get rough, staying connected to the boat is a must, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun with it! Join us for a light-hearted look at how we navigate the deck safely, with a few laughs along the way. Safety first—but style is a close second! 🌊😂 #SailingSafety #PFD #LifeOnDeck
