In this video, I fly Mira Slovak’s original Bücker Jungmann, a legendary German-designed WWII-era biplane with an unbelievable backstory. Miroslav “Mira” Slovak was a Czech Airlines pilot who hijacked his own plane in 1953 to flee the Soviet regime, eventually becoming a U.S. citizen, air race champion, and aerobatic pilot. Aboard Wanderlust… a 2018 Beneteau Oceanis 38.1.  With the true winds at 11 knots, Wanderlust was comfortable and fairly stable, doing 8 knots beating. I completely missed Vinny’s high five.
