The founder was Henri Jeanneau, a hardware store owner, who began by producing power boats. Jeanneau specializes in monohulls, but it created a specialist multihull line, Lagoon catamarans. Jeanneau and Lagoon became part of Groupe Beneteau in 1995 Jeanneau is a French boatyard in Les Herbiers, which has produced yachts since 1957. Jeanneau boats are produced by Groupe Beneteau. Jeanneau produces a range of powerboats and sailboats for fishing, cruising, and water sports. Popular Jeanneau models include the Sun Odyssey 410, Sun Odyssey 440, Sun Odyssey 349, Sun Odyssey 490, and Merry Fisher 795, as well as dinghies, motorboats, sailing yachts and a multihull line, Lagoon catamarans.
