🪢 Sunday Boat Tip [3/52] 🪢 Living on a boat means having a very endless space to store things. And the games we bought from Sweden have long since been played til boredom! So when we recently started to learn how to play Backgammon (actually on the plane to Trinidad) we started looking for a board that we could bring onboard. But our game box is full, and we didn’t really find anything good. So I started to browse the App Store and found an app that does everything that we wished for; we can play against each other offline, the pieces don’t roll away if there is a sudden wave and the dice can’t end up in the ocean… Win-Win!!! These clips are from onboard the MOD70 Race For Water which is currently lying third in the Rolex Fastnet Race just ahead of her sistership Veolia Environement. They've just gone round the Rock and are flying! These videos showing Steve Ravussin steering the 6.5 ton rocket ship are from the last Friday of Cowes Week when editor David Glenn sailed round the Isle of Wight for a quick demo. We hit 30.7 knots between St Catherine's and Bembridge and despite stopping for half an hour to fix the main hull rudder got round in less than 4 hours. Eight of the MOD70s have been sold for a major world tour of passage racing and inshore round the cans stuff. Watch out for an upcoming feature in Yachting World.
