Cómo es la cubierta de un Volvo Open 70. Preparando la navegación a vela de Vigo a Malta. Velas por todas partes, drizas, escotas, estays volantes, contras, grilletes textiles. De todo hay en esta cubierta, además, lo que no es dyneema, es fibra de carbono. Cuando uno se hace a la mar, sobre todo en un barco que es novedad para él, grandes emociones y pensamientos nos recorren de la cabeza a los pies. En un par de horas nos ponemos rumbo a Malta. Lasciamo Wallilabou Bay per risalire verso nord. L’idea era di raggiungere Marigot Bay, ma le pessime recensioni sugli abitanti locali ci hanno fatti scappare a gambe levate. Prua su Rodney Bay, quindi. Miglia totali: 50 Vento: variabile (da 4 a 25 kn) Abbiamo approfittato dei momenti di bonaccia per dissalare un po’ di acqua e i momenti ventosi per aprire e chiudere qualche vela 😅 Era un po’ che non navigavamo per l’intera giornata. D’altronde siamo partiti alle 7:00 e adesso (h 17:00) siamo ancora in navigazione. Ci avete chiesto perché stiamo correndo verso nord e vorremmo rispondere e con l’occasione fare qualche precisazione. Innanzitutto non stiamo correndo 😂 I giorni insieme ai nostri amici sono contati e le cose da vedere tante. Stiamo conciliando una permanenza ricca e una normale vivibilità in barca. Stiamo risalendo verso Martinica perché il 28 Francesca e Matteo torneranno a casa e vogliamo essere sicuri che non perdano l’aereo a causa di qualche imprevisto in mare. Dopo la loro partenza ci prenderemo qualche giorno per stare fermi in una spiaggia, una di quelle belle belle, e riassestarci. È tempo di rallentare 🌬️ A domani! C.

The round turn with two half hitches is a great knot to temporarily attach your rope to just about anything. The name refers to the components used to form the knot: a round turn wraps the rope around the object (completely encircling it) and the two half hitches secure the end around the standing part. The round turn with two half hitches is a great knot for tying your fenders to your boat for docking. We prefer this option if you are going to be leaving your boat docked for long periods of time. It will hold tight ensuring your boat is protected by the fenders while you are away. There are other fenders knot that are easier to untie, we would only recommend these for short stays or when you a remaining on the boat while docked. If you will be leaving your boat for an extended period of time the Round Turn with two Half Hitches is the best option.
