================================ Welcome to the best week of your life! This is The Yacht Week – an adventure like no other. Explore stunning oceans and islands aboard your very own yacht – with your best mates and hundreds of other beautiful like-minded explorers in convoy. You’ll have your own skipper and the freedom to map your own path for seven days through spectacular beaches, deserted islands and incredible parties. Back in 2006, we were just a bunch of uni friends who wanted to go sailing and explore far and wide. Today, we’re still that same bunch of friends, only now there are 70,000 of us. And our loving family just keeps getting bigger. We have forged a community from adventurous spirits, vast open waters, and a host of musicians, collaborators, sailors and revellers. https://www.theyachtweek.com/ https://www.instagram.com/theyachtweek/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/day8/ https://www.tiktok.com/@theyachtweek/
The skipper on Going to Red splits the gap between one boat racing to windward and another running down wind in his J109 in the third weekend of racing at the season ending Frosties Regatta out of SLYC on the lovely strangford lough. The early October weather as simply stunning with 8 to 14 knots push the boats around the two races which were held on a perfect day for sailing on the lough. There was only a small fleet racing in the IRC fleet which was slightly disappointing end to the season. After a slow start in weeks 1 and 2 GTR is not back in the mix with two race wins on day 3 of the regatta.
With flat water and a steady 12 to 14 knots of breeze it is tackline up and get as deep as you can on the J109 Going to Red. The trimming of the kite in this short clip was perfect, with just a little bit of curl as the skipper pushes for depth at every opportunity. The team at bottom up boats hope you like this sort clip from the 2025 racing season on Stanford lough.
