Hvar Old Town - this bustling town has the largest Town Square in all of Dalmatia and features a maze of cobbled alleyways, narrow streets, and authentic Dalmatian restaurants. The Spanjola Fortress towers over the town of Hvar and provides impressive views. 5. Split Old Town - Diocletian's Palace forms the basis of the Old Town in Split, and was built some 1,700 years ago between the 3rd and 4th Centuries. As one of the best-preserved examples of Roman architecture, Diocletian's Palace is a must for exploring Croatian old-world charm. 6. Korcula Old Town - Korcula's fortified Old Town features bell towers, turrets, winding streets, and an eclectic mix of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops. As the rumoured birthplace of Marco Polo, Korcula Old Town has a mysterious and energetic vibe.
