Jack Roy joined the board of Irish Sailing in 2013 and was President from 2017 to 2020. During this time he led with great talent and dedication, and always with a sense of fun and humour. The extent of his influence and popularity is shown in the tributes received by Irish Sailing from people around the world who worked with him during his presidency. Jack finished his presidency during COVID lockdown when face to face celebrations were restricted, so we marked the occasion by publishing his last speech and a slideshow of his time as Irish Sailing President. Hard to believe that last June we we’re having a great time in Yellowstone National Park. I read someplace that “There are moments which mark your life. Moments when you realize nothing will ever be the same and time is divided into two parts - before this, and after this.” Such as it is with our life before the accident and after right now. We miss Yellowstone terribly but feel so grateful that we can still have our memories and our life here in the Caribbean. Fun fact: We are 4584 miles away from where this reel was made.🤭. .
