In this #short video, I practice a new (for me) Solo Sailing Docking Technique. The dock line standing by is tied off to the winch. As I slowly motor my 32 foot sailboat into the slip, I loop the dock line around the dock cleat. Then wrap the line back around the winch and the forward momentum of the sailboat will pull you snuggly into the dock. EASY! If you'd like to watch the long-form video, you can find that here: https://youtu.be/drl8hDK4kdY?si=xrsjVuPSJU-4tRtA If you'd like to help me achieve my sailboat life dream, consider becoming a Patreon or helping out on Paypal! https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=QRY32Z64LYWF4 https://www.patreon.com/EdwardSeaton You can help for as little as 3$ per month and every little bit helps. In the final leg of the deliver of Going to Red from Kilrush to Strangford we were once again blessed with clear but cold condition, the mid afternoon kill was once again warmed up by a visit from a pod of the most majestic marine mammals. A pod of around 25 Dolphins stayed and played on the bow for over 30 minutes, you can't help but get excited by these beautiful creatures. The warned us up for the final push up into Strangford Lough. Watching this back it reminds me why we need to do more to keep our seas clean and cool, allowing these animals to live and thrive for generations to come. Thanks for watching Bottom Up Boats latest production which shares some footage of the Dolphins in the Irish sea.
We are seeing a growth in interest in aluminium catamarans at the moment. It's definitely a trend. The Eyecat 55 is one of the more impressive launches of the past couple of years. Aluminium is hard wearing, will last longer and is strong enough for off-the-track sailing. It's also going to help your resale values and has a lower environmental impact. ▫️ This aluminium 55 footer is built in the Netherlands and has two electric motors, an aluminium hull, solar panels and a water maker, a customisable boat set up for blue water cruising. ▫️ The #1 hull was set up with twin aft helms and a forward lounge. ▫️ LOA 17.68 m LOD 16.75 m LWL 16.11 m BEAM 8.40 m DRAFT 1.60 m BRIDGE DECK HEIGHT 1.15 m DISPLACEMENT (LIGHTLOAD) 18.500 kg ▫️ eyecatamarans #aluminium #yachts #ecosailing #catamaran #multihull
