Doing a rig check before offshore sailing? Here’s how we inspect our rigging before every passage. From the top of the mast, we check for cracked fittings, loose pins, corrosion, and halyard chafe — the small things that can turn into big problems at sea. We use a climbing harness (or a bosun’s chair works too), a figure 8 knot for extra security, and always a backup halyard. Clear communication and double-checking gear are key when one of you is literally hoisting the other up the mast. This is part of our pre-passage checklist — and it’s one of the most important safety steps we take before any long sail. ⛵ Want more sailing tips, rigging know-how, and liveaboard life? The first knot I tied? A complete disaster. 😂 But that’s how it starts — with mistakes, laughs, and good mentors guiding the way. That’s the spirit of our Sailing School. We don’t expect perfection. We expect practice. Because every mistake is part of the journey. From knots to navigation, safety to docking — we guide you step by step, until you can sail with confidence and freedom. 🌊✨

SUBSCRIBE OUR CHANNEL https://www.youtube.com/c/theboatshow/?sub_confirmation=1 We had a very extreme adrenaline experience just few weeks ago...and we could not wait to share it with you! Now we can! We were aboard Fsd 195 by Ferretti Security & Defense, a 20-meter hi-tech Patrol Boat capable of exceeding 50 knots with two 1900 horsepower MAN engines. It is very agile to perform any action very quickly. The control area is technological but also very comfortable because the clarity of the crew is essential to operate in dramatic (or critical) situations. Enjoy this images and get ready to see the full boat reaview, it'll be ready soooon! By Maurizio Bulleri The Boat Show
