The Yachting Malta Ltd EurILCA Masters race went underway this afternoon just off Sliema seafront when the ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 fleets managed to fit in two races. The approximate 8 knots of wind, and negligible swell allowed the fleet to fit in two races. Unfortunately after the second race, the wind dropped to 5knots resulting in the fleet return back to its base at the Royal Malta Yacht Club. The ILCA 6 fleet saw Rob Cage (GBR) and Vadim Yahkhinson win a race each, with Cage leading the standings for the day with 3 points. The larger, ILCA 7 fleet saw Christoph Marsano (AUT) and Aristos Chatzistamatiou (GRE) take two wins, however it was Wolfgang Gerz (GER) who matched Marsano’s points tally, both finishing the day with five points each.

A lot of people didn’t think I could pull this off – and honestly, I did want to quit a few times..But the old one was ruined, professionals had a 2-year waitlist, and I figured… why spend the money when I might be able to do it myself?💰💰 To everyone who thought it couldn’t be done – well, it could 💁🏼‍♀️ Did I spend almost 4 months doing it? Yes, along other projects that needed attention. Is it perfect? Nope! It’s not perfect. Some seams are crooked (like so many other things on a boat), I’ve unpicked and resewn more times than I can count, and I even made a whole new sprayhood after the first one was a total disaster🔥 But now it’s finished. And it’s d4mn special.Stubbornness and support from good people really can take you far - so thanks to all who actually believe in the project.This cockpit enclosure is uniquely ours – and just the way it’s supposed to be! - 17 days, let’s go!!!
