You can rent that boat for €1000. But let's be honest, it's basically a fishing boat. For that same amount with us? You get 7 days of sailing on a yacht. Waking up in different bays. Reaching islands you can't get to by land. Medieval towns accessible only by yacht. Swimming in turquoise water. Living on a real sailing yacht with a captain who knows what they're doing. David Payne of the Australian National Maritime Museum gives us a little inspiration for the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame with a look at Barrenjoey, the 5.5M yacht which was sailed to Olympic glory in 1964. Grandfather Bill Northam and crew Peter “Pod” O’Donnell and James Sergeant, won Australia’s first Olympic sailing Gold medal in Tokyo in this beautiful boat which was designed in the US but built in Australia. Nominations for the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame close on June 16, so get your nominations in 👉🏻http://www.sailing.org.au/australian-sailing-hall-fame/
