Tunisia bound aboard our sailboat Kaia 🇹🇳 ⛵️ Waiting for the right weather window, we consider factors such as wind patterns and sea states to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey. As we set off from Sardinia, we bid farewell to it’s stunning coastline dotted with rugged cliffs and azure waters. We sail southward, into the immense open sea, with only the sound of the wind and waves for company. 48hours of non-stop sailing lays ahead! Navigating the Mediterranean waters requires careful navigation and seamanship. We keep a lookout for other vessels as we sail under the moonlight. It’s difficult to explain the feeling of freedom as our boat glides through the endless expanse of blue. We approach the coastline of Tunisia, marvelling at the sight of the ancient ruins and bustling ports. After two days of sailing, arriving in Monastir marks the culmination of our voyage (our longest sail yet). We dock the boat and can’t wait to step ashore and discover the rich and vibrant culture of Tunisian culture, our new home for the next few months! This catamaran has been sold. We wish the new owners many happy years aboard! This Fountaine Pajot Cumberland 44 has been thoroughly refitted in 2019/2020, is in great condition throughout and has never been used for charter. She is a sturdy trawler cat and her power is provided by two strong Volvo Penta diesel engines of 285 hp each that have been refitted in November 2020. Furthermore, equipped with a generator, inverter, solar panels, underwater lights, and at both helms a full Raymarine navigation package. Further to that, equipped with; a water maker, life raft, bimini, davits, covers, child-safe netting, exterior upholstery from 2019, etc. Obviously, this Fountaine Pajot Cumberland 44 has, thanks to her impressive beam of 6.55 meter, a voluminous interior. This is a cat you can live on as a second home. In fact, this is also a cat where you can live on permanently. The hulls comprise 4 double bed cabins, 2 toilet rooms and 2 shower rooms. Furthermore, the sofa and the table in the saloon can be converted into a huge bed. All interior upholstery, beds, and blinds have been renewed in 2019. Furthermore, she benefits from aircon throughout the boat which has been installed in 2021.
