Was Vernünftigeres soll her, doch nicht zu düster von innen und bitte ohne Teakdeck. Am liebsten Mittelcockpit wegen der Achterkabine, doch idealerweise ohne die Nachteile einer Centercockpityacht. Deshalb sehen wir uns diese Catalina 355 an. Sie hat einen Flügelkiel mit 1.37m Tiefgang und ein Achtercockpit mit Hecksitzen, die begeistern. Die Catalina wird zwar auf der anderen Seite vom Atlantik auch gerne verchartert, ist aber nicht billig gebaut und durchaus wertig. Klar hat sie nicht so viel Stauraum wie eine Rassy, ist dafür aber auch nicht so dunkel und einiges jünger. In amerikanischer Manier gibt es eine große Pantry mit riesigem Kühlschrank und Doppelspüle. Und der Clou der Catalina: Trotz Achtercockpit eine vernünftige Achterkabine. Man schläft quer unterm Cockpit. Im Vorschiff ein auf den ersten Blick gutes Inselbett und genügend Stauraum. Doch ein Blick auf den Zollstock zeigt, dass das Bett nur 1,90 lang ist. Sie ist nicht zwar verbastelt, aber leider auch nicht besonders gut gepflegt. Vor dem Winterlager hätte man mal die Segel abschlagen können und die Leinen müssten mal in die Waschmaschine.
