Kiel war der Startpunkt des The Ocean Race Europe 2025 – und setzte gleich zu Beginn ein eindrucksvolles Zeichen. Fünf Tage lang verwandelte sich die Kieler Förde in eine Bühne für Hochsee-Segelsport, gelebten Meeresschutz und ein internationales Miteinander. Zwischen dem 6. und 10. August kamen hunderttausende Menschen an die Kiellinie, um die IMOCA-Boote aus nächster Nähe zu erleben, die Crews bei spannenden Showrennen und dem großen Leg Start anzufeuern und Teil eines außergewöhnlichen maritimen Festivals zu sein. Fast die Hälfte aller Besucher*innen des gesamten Rennens war schon in Kiel dabei – ein starkes Zeichen für die Bedeutung der Stadt Kiel im Segelsport. We had heard, that in between the 2 islands below Cannes, there would be a red catamaran with a flag with 'Pizza' on it. Yes, this was a boat where fresh pizzas were made and which you could! Check out the menu here: https://www.catapizza.fr. You could pick up the pizza yourself (you will receive a text message) or for € 5 your order will be brought to you on the boat with 1 of the 4 dinghies they have. We decided to pick the pizza up ourselves and eat it on the boat, you can watch us in this video picking up the pizza's. Delicious pizzas and great to see how they are made at the boat. Did you notice the fresh basil plants at the back of the boat? This CataPizza has been around for 10 years now as they tell you in this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwAcrqcfAJQ. About 200 pizzas are sold every day for € 20. So you can do the math yourself that this is a great business model!
