We're super excited to be a part of the @seakeepers research project mapping the ocean floor. We met the International Seakeepers Society at the Auckland Boat Show 2024 and when we heard about their various projects we asked if we could apply to join their research program of mapping the seafloor (which we did) and within a few days they sent us the logger and some other cool stuff free of charge. We wanted to go to the Lazy River, which is park of the Moriah Harbour Cay National Park. we went there on the outside. It should have been faster, but it was choppy and arduous. we backtracked and this is where we pick up the story. We had to pull the Dinghy past some really shallow spots.
