This video, taken by Patrick G in France and copied here with his permission shows his Strike 20 trimaran on its fourth sail. I quote from his email " we achieved 9 / 10 kt to windward, 16 kt broad reaching under gennaker ( 14.8knots over 500 m and 14.3 over a nautical mile) The Strike 20 has a simple dory shape plywood main hull and uses beach cat outriggers and rig. so it is an easy cheap way to build your own performance trimaran. The start of the One Circular Quay Australian Maxi Championship SOLAS Big Boat Challenge saw Master Lock Comanche lead the fleet down the harbour. Bow Caddy tracked her from our boat and this is the result from a hand-held non-gimballed camera with Master Lock Comanche reaching speeds of around 25 knots plus. It was an impressive sight.
