🌌 14 juillet en mer : ma première nav de nuit ✨ Après une première tentative un peu agitée (cf. la vidéo précédente 😅), on est retournées en mer… et là, tout avait changé : plus de vent, une mer calme, un ciel clair. C’était comme si la Méditerranée avait décidé de nous offrir un moment suspendu 💙 🎆 C’était ma toute première navigation de nuit et j’ai adoré. On my third research journey up the length of Japan, I’ve returned to Matsue Castle in Shimane Prefecture — the region that’s ranked number one in Japan for twelve consecutive years for the number of centenarians per 100,000 people. Just 48 hours ago, I left my boat in Amami, flew to Tokyo to surprise my son on his birthday, and then took two long trains to reach Shimane, where I’ll be spending the week writing, soaking up the atmosphere, and conducting more interviews for my upcoming book on longevity and community in Japan. A longer video is coming soon with updates from the past few months — including some sailing adventures — but for now, here’s a glimpse of where the next chapter of this journey unfolds. Remember, it’s never too late to get out and about.

Cosa significa dormire in rada? Vuol dire trascorrere la notte in una baia, protetta da vento e onde, con la barca ormeggiata grazie all’ancora. È un modo bellissimo di vivere il mare. Dormire in rada ti permette di avere un vero contatto con la Natura: potrai ammirare splendidi tramonti sul mare e vedere le baie quando i turisti giornalieri sono ormai andati via. Le onde ti culleranno e la mattina ti sveglierai in posti meravigliosi, subito pronta o pronto per una colazione vista mare o addirittura per un bagno ancor prima di prendere il caffè. Per noi non c’è cosa più bella che svegliarsi così, in mezzo alla Natura.
