Watch as this incredible octopus shifts color and texture in real time, blending perfectly into the coral reef to stay hidden. Here are 3 interesting facts about octopus color changes: 1. Colorblind Yet Master of Color: Despite their incredible color-changing abilities, octopuses are believed to be colorblind. They likely sense light and texture in complex ways, possibly using their skin as a sort of distributed “eye.” 2. They use color to express mood and communicate: Some octopus species flash dark colors when they’re angry or threatened, while others shift hues during mating rituals or while hunting, a language written in light and skin. 3. Texture Change Enhances Camouflage: Along with color, octopuses can change their skin texture using muscle-controlled papillae, making them look like rocks, coral, or seaweed. Moments like this remind us just how wild, smart, and beautiful our oceans truly are. 🌊💙 Ready to witness the magic for yourself? Ocean Village Marina is nestled in the heart of Southampton and is the UK's first and only 5* marina. Surrounded by shops, bars, restaurants and a cinema, the waterfront is bustling and sophisticated, where eating out, enjoying a glass of wine, or going to the cinema is as much a part of the boating experience as the sailing is. With its deep water basin, the marina is ideal for superyachts up to 80 metres and perfectly placed for short day trips or longer journeys. It has also become famous for hosting the start or finish of round-the-world yacht races. The marina is home to a £50m luxury spa hotel complex, the city's tallest building, and exciting new restaurant and retail openings.
Rain and a light 8-10 knot northerly accompanied Master Lock Comanche as she entered the Sydney Heads this morning a little after 11am, taking Line Honours in the One Circular Quay Audi Centre Sydney BWPS Cabbage Tree Island Race. Unfortunately for Law Connect, which was powering towards the Heads almost in sight of Comanche through the rain, the breeze clocked left into the northwest and died in between the Heads, leaving Law Connect having to tack to round South Head. And yes, that is Crosbie in the video trying to take photos in the rain with an umbrella up!
Ci vediamo domani! Buona notte marinai nel cuore😘 Andrea
