► Essai dans Multicoque Mag 219 : https://www.multicoques-mag.com/essais/catamaran/outremer-52-la-quintessence-du-catamaran-hauturier ► Pour ce nouveau 52, le chantier a tenu à s’entourer de l’expertise des architectes VPLP et de grands noms du design français (Patrick Le Quément, Darnet Design, Saguez & Partners), mais également du savoir-faire du chantier Gunboat (également membre du Groupe Grand Large Yachting), lequel a permis de réduire le poids de la structure tout en conservant une résistance à toute épreuve. Ceci a permis d’augmenter les surfaces vitrées et les ouvertures dans le catamaran. Dans le but de faciliter la maîtrise de l’Outremer 52, les manœuvres peuvent être ramenées dans le cockpit. A l’instar de l’Outremer 55, la barre à roue, positionnée à tribord, garantit un parfait contrôle du multicoque avec une visibilité exceptionnelle sur les voiles. Elle peut aussi se mettre en position basse dans le cockpit afin de se protéger du soleil ou par mauvais temps. Les deux barres franches restent opérationnelles à l’arrière des coques. A l’intérieur, on appréciera la banquette de veille face à la marche, les quatre ouvertures à l’avant du carré, et la baie vitrée XXL qui s’ouvre sur le cockpit. L’Outremer 52 se décline en trois finitions – Life, Nomad et Sportline. È un periodo di fuoco e in questi ultimi due giorni non ho potuto fare a meno di pensare che ci stiamo perdendo il tempo. Non mi riferisco al visitare i posti o fare i turisti, quanto più a essere qui con mente e corpo, essere presenti. I pensieri invece volano sempre verso isole lontane, dove le responsabilità e il vortice lavorativo assorbono ogni cosa. Stasera durante il tramonto è accaduta una cosa che non capitava da un po’. Andre ha preso il piano e io mi sono sdraiata accanto a lui ad ascoltarlo. Di nuovo guardando il cielo ho potuto sentire quanto quel momento fosse di valore, quanto fosse importante. Respiriamo aria pulita, viviamo a contatto con la natura, abbiamo una fortuna indescrivibile, eppure è così facile dimenticarsi di guardare il cielo. Stasera tutto si è riallineato nuovamente, abbiamo parlato, ci siamo tenuti la mano, abbiamo aggiunto un tassello piccolo ma importante in questa routine che attraversa la felicita. Perché la felicità può spaventare e imparare ad accoglierla fa parte di un percorso coraggioso. Noi siamo qui, oggi. Tanta strada già percorsa, altrettanta (e oltre) da scoprire insieme. I've started the 2nd prototype wheelhouse extension (and dismantled the first). We had proved the concept but wanted the central fixed part a little narrower. The goals are a full cockpit enclosure AND moving the mainsheet from the top of the aft cabin to above the wheelhouse (better safety and a better sheeting angle). We also refitted the timber trim on the port side complete with the front zip for the first removable window section. We are now living aboard our Rival 38 Centre Cockpit full-time while finishing a refit so we can launch ASAP.
