► Nautitech Open 40 - Le troisième millésime ! ► Pas question de stopper le succès du 40 ! Le plus petit catamaran de la gamme Nautitech a été présenté à l'International Multihulls Show de La Grande-Motte dans sa troisième livrée ; concrètement, il reprend les codes du 44 avec un rouf (de nouveau) blanc. La première version arborait en effet un dessus de rouf blanc avant qu'il ne devienne gris foncé comme le 46. En revanche de nombreux éléments deviennent noirs comme les bossoirs, les mains courantes, les supports de marches d'escaliers. A l'intérieur, le chêne clair blanchi côtoie le cuir... noir bien sûr ! Le constructeur basé à Rochefort nous a confirmé la mise à l’eau de son nouveau Nautitech 48 en octobre prochain avec une Première Mondiale prévue lors du Miami International Boat Show en février 2024. Ce nouveau modèle a été dévoilé grâce à la réalité virtuelle. Notre avis ? A rogue wave from a different direction to the general wave train hits my boat while hove to (not sailing) in a storm, 100 miles off the Australian coast on passage from New Caledonia to Brisbane in November 2017. This was during my single-handed sailing circumnavigation in Fathom, my Vancouver 28. The tiller is not lashed completely to leeward as I was experimenting in keeping some way on. Conditions improved enough after 3 days that I was able to start sailing again and safely make landfall. If I had tried to close on the coast in these conditions it could have been a disaster in the shallow water and even bigger breaking waves found in the South Australian Current (another solo sailor was rescued at the time). Windancer is a Crowther Windspeed 36 built by Geoff Cruse and launched in 1998. She has had a professional transom extension to create a more cruiser friendly boarding platform but still leaving her at under 12 metre. Windspeeds are renowned for their easy simplicity and speed of sailing. Fitted with daggerboards and dagger rudders, she draws barely 600mm. A rotating mast is of course fitted. She is still owned by the original couple who have spent the last 13 years living aboard and cruising Windancer up and down the coast of Queensland. She is in immaculate condition, has relatively low engine hours, and a good sail wardrobe. Simple inside but with all necessary systems fitted, she is a sailors boat first and foremost, but clearly comfortable enough to live aboard.
