This Giving Tuesday, sailor and environmentalist Chris Wolfe is supporting Sailors for the Sea Powered by Oceana—and she’s inviting others to join her. 🙌 Chris has seen both the breathtaking beauty of the ocean and the threats it faces, from erupting volcanoes to floating plastic in the Pacific. Today through midnight, every donation is matched, and gifts of $40+ receive an exclusive waffle knit beanie. Let’s work together to protect the waters we love. 💙 Donate today: https://bit.ly/3XpIDvN #GivingTuesday #ProtectWhatYouLove
Yesterday we performed a phase out inspection from charter management for the owner. After the inspection on the mooring, a sea trials on engine and sails was carried out, after which the sailboat was taken out. In a few days we will return for a visual inspection of the underwater part, measurement of capillary moisture and inspection with a thermal camera.
Trip to the Atlantic Highlands in New Jersey in serious fog. In order to get there, I had to cross New York Harbor. With less than 100m of visibility, not a fun undertaking. There were approximately 20 large vessels all moving at different speeds and heading into the harbor. I never saw one. Without radar it would have been extremely dangerous.
