Watch as a windward drop goes terribly wrong during a sailing regatta on Strangford Lough, showcasing the importance of crew work and communication in yacht racing. The J109, a popular choice for IRC racing, is put to the test as the crew attempts to navigate the challenges of spinnaker drops and bottom up boats. Unfortunately, a series of mishaps leads to a sailing fail that will have you laughing at the onboard antics. With a mix of funny sailing moments and sailor bloopers, this video highlights the lighter side of sailing fails and boating fails, even on a serious race day. The Strangford Lough sailing community is known for its competitive spirit, but even the best crews can experience a spinnaker fail or two. Join us as we take a look at what happens when things don't go according to plan, and the crew must think on their feet to recover from a disastrous spinnaker drop fail. Whether you're a seasoned sailor or just starting out, you'll appreciate the humor and unpredictability of this sailing fail video. The team at bottom up boats hope you enjoy these short clips from the 2025 racing season

Confident and clearly in control of the boat and the race." - a happy sailor from one of our previous RTIR To find out more head to our website or follow us on our social channels.
