🐋 The majestic sperm whale, also known as the cachalot, is the largest of the toothed whales and holds the title of the largest toothed predator. 🌊 Named for the waxy substance "spermaceti" in their heads, which aids in focusing sound, these magnificent creatures have a rich history. 💡 Spermaceti was once used in oil lamps, lubricants, and candles, but unfortunately, they were heavily hunted during the commercial whaling era. Red Sailboat, free sailing Bought second hand in awful condition, restored and put to good use. It came with cotton sails, albeit cut with scissors for reasons unknown (!) Also no boom and no joint to have one. Sails were sewn back, boom was added but somwhow it was too heavy. Leaned too much, cotton caught water and boat capsized. Luckily I found a fiberglass rod from a broken umbrella, and some synthetic fabric for some new sails. This is the first run, tethered
