We sail on the good ship Saracen, a Beneteau Oceanis 473 from 2006. Out journey started in Scotland in early 2023 and our ultimate goal is to sail around the globe …..slowly. We make these videos mostly for family and friends and to create a record of our adventures for ourselves so that we can look back at them later in life, were not in it to make money (way to hard). What Sailing means to me. Sailing is a source of inspiration and humility, it teaches attentiveness, anticipation, resourcefulness, patience and prioritisation. The choice that we made to take a leap of faith and buy a sailboat has led to countless beautiful experiences and over time, we have grown to understand more about ourselves, each other, our boat & mother nature. We live our days on the ocean under the sky, moon, stars and sun, we witness the change of tides daily until it is clockwork in our brain. There's still a mountain of learning to be done, but today, we celebrate our growth. Chapter by chapter we turn the pages of our own syllabus trying to better ourselves by 1% everyday. "At first I was afraid I was petrified." Overtime, with practice and repetition, with knowledge we have gained through experience, fears are replaced by anticipation and I look forward to the growth ahead of us aboard Ujud as sailors.
