► Full test in Multihulls World N°196: ► https://www.multicoques-mag.com/essais/catamaran/hh44-un-catamaran-hybride-et-plein-d-astuces The smallest model in the HH range manages to reconcile a very “performance” vision of cruising (all-carbon construction, a sleek sail plan with a 62’ / 19 m mast, and deep daggerboards in the SC version) with a hybrid propulsion system. The HH44, with its 3.2 kWp of solar panels, 50.4 kWh of Lithium-Ion batteries and two 10 kW electric motors, is capable of covering 18 nautical miles at 7.5 knots in full electric mode. The catamaran will be equipped with a very efficient hydro-generation system for charging while under sail. Diesel engines give total safety by doubling the means of propulsion. At anchor or in port, the transoms fold down on each side to create bathing platforms. All sail controls are managed from the aft helm stations. Inside, the nacelle is generously airy. The port hull is home to the Owner's suite. This model comes in an Ocean Cruising version with classic fiberglass construction, aluminum mast, and skeg keels, while the Sports Cruising version incorporates carbon throughout and daggerboards. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Hudson Yacht Group Architect: Hudson Yacht & Marine Ltd. The RORC Griffin Team flies around Giraglia! Congratulations to the RORC Griffin Team of Lydia Barber & Josh Dawson for taking runner up in the Eurosaf Mixed Offshore European Championship. Racing in a Figaro 3 provided to the RORC as wild card entry with a free charter and regatta entry. The European Championship is part of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour. The RORC team of Lydia Barber & Josh Dawson racing San Marco was just under two hours behind the winning Team Anemos sailed by Roberta Fazzana & Andrea Caracci. The RORC Team raced from La Spezia to Genoa via the Giraglia Rock in an elapsed time of 2 days 11 hrs 25 mins 5 secs. Lydia and Josh had a terrific battle at the front of the fleet with just 12 minutes separating second from fourth in a race of nearly two and half days. “Super happy to hold on and finish second in the EUROSAF mixed double handed European Championships!” commented Josh Dawson. “The race was very challenging with every possible set of conditions. We had plenty of drifting, some lightning storms and a fun 25knt blast around Giraglia! “We had a good start and built a five mile lead on Leg One before getting shut down and overtaken behind Elba. The race compressed at the half way point and we then bounced around the top three positions for the rest of the race. Coming into the last 20 miles, we had a small lead in second and tried to hold on through the final shut downs off Genoa. The top four all finished within an hour after 2 and a half days of tight racing. Overall, it has been a great week in Italy!!! Thank you to RORC and the Nastro Rosa tour for the wild card entry.”
