We are celebrating two massive milestones this weekend! Not only is it Memorial Day weekend, but it’s officially our 3-year anniversary as a sailing couple. To celebrate, we traded our usual dock for the historic, resilient shores of Galveston Beach, Texas. In this episode, we’re remembering the roots of the island and the holiday. From the solemn Civil War origins of Memorial Day to the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier, this island is a monument to the human spirit. Of course, no trip to the coast is complete without savoring the lifestyle. The corian countertops are going in and it's going to change the look and feel of the boat COMPLETELY. Not just in the galley, but in the heads and cabins too. These are the kinds of finishing details that make such a big impact, taking it from construction site into a proper home. But as exciting as it is, there's also a lot on the line here. It's been months of planning, measuring, and making thousands of tiny decisions....and now all those decisions are about to come to fruition, and we're about to find out if the pieces of the puzzle will actually fit together, or if it's time to go back to the drawing board.
