TheNorthStory.de Since April 2023, we, Sarah and Michael, have been living and working on board our sailing yacht Lilo and sailing to the most beautiful places in the Baltic Sea. Our two dogs Trishi and Merlin, who have also discovered sailing for themselves and always accompany us on our tours on the water and on land, are also on board. As we don't just want to sail, but also want to get to know the people and countries around the Baltic Sea, we tend to travel at a more leisurely pace. We look forward to everyone who would like to accompany us virtually on our journey.

Yesterday as well as last night was a tricky 24 hrs for Conrad, who has been making slow progress due to a high pressure that appeared in his path. To distract himself and calm his nerves down, he’s made for us a fun advertisement out at sea. A little humour is always good for the morale. 🎬 Subtitles and editing by Natasha Gonzalez @coconutssailteam GO #crazykiwi ! #RDR2022 #RouteduRhum TRACKER 🗺️ www.routedurhum.com Technical Sponsors Already Onboard: @imocaglobeseries @gillmarine @spinlockhq @bolle_eyewear @lyophilise.and.co @onesails
We love blue tape. It is helpful for labeling and reminding you of important items to track and monitor. In this Offshore Cruising tip called “Analog Gauges”, Jeff recommends using blue tape to help you mark your gauges for quick verification that all is well. Analog gauges have needle indicators that move to and remain in a safe operating “normal” position once they are warmed up and running. By marking the “normal” needle location with blue tape, you can quickly check that your gauges are where they should be. If you start running hot, losing voltage or oil pressure you have a simple pre-alarm warning. This same tip can be used for main engine analog gauges. Simply cut blue tape into small triangles and mark the normal needle locations for voltage, oil pressure, and coolant. This practice can be used for all of your analog gauges including proper pressure points for steering, fresh water, etc. A swift glance lets you verify your status.
