Did you know that National Hispanic Heritage month starts today? So to celebrate my own Hispanic heritage, I bring to you the Paloma, the national drink of Mexico! Yes it’s true! The Paloma - not the margarita - is the national drink of Mexico! How to make a Paloma Ingredients 1.5 ounces tequila 1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed 1 ounce grapefruit juice A splash of Jarritos grapefruit soda, chilled Garnish: lime wheel Garnish: tajin rim (optional) Steps Rub a lime wedge around the edge of a highball glass and dip the rim in tajin (optional). Add the tequila, lime juice, and grapefruit juice to the glass, then fill with ice. Top with a splash of chilled Jarritos grapefruit soda and stir gently to combine. Garnish with a lime wheel. With the self-imposed sailing deadline of April 1st here, I couldn’t wait for the water pump to arrive. So my friend, Rick Cook came to help me get Vie Sauvage out of the marina and her sails hoisted. The tender and old Johnson outboard did the job in towing the 4ton sailboat both out and into the marina. A long day of gentle breezes and practice in sailing. My first sail ever on my own boat!
